Haitian culture places a very high value on education. Almost all schools in Haiti are private, which means families must pay school tuition, purchase books and supplies, and obtain uniforms for their children to have the opportunity to attend. Many families sacrifice to send their children to school, but many more can simply not afford it. Anyone can open a school in Haiti, meaning the quality of education can vary drastically. As a result, less than 30% of children who attend school reach the sixth grade. Divinus is committed to providing opportunities for children to attend quality schools so as to invest in the future of Haiti by equipping today's minds.

Over half of Haitian children do not go school (about 1.5 million children).

Only 35% of those who go to school only make it to the 6th grade.
